Safety is the cornerstone of everything we do, and our routines are rooted in solid values from outdoor activities, mountain guiding, and climbing.
There is great respect and understanding for HSE and quality throughout AAK Safety, and this is reflected in how tasks are performed throughout the company. We are committed to ensuring that all work is carried out in an ethically sound manner. Based on this culture of safety, the safety leaders at AAK Safety have developed "Insight-Driven Safety" which is a comprehensive safety philosophy. This philosophy is well recognized by our customers and partners, and we have had the pleasure of sharing it with many during meetings, courses, and conferences.
To maintain a continuous focus on prevention and improvement, AAK Safety has robust management systems for HSE and quality. These are in accordance with laws, regulations, and standards. We are certified by DNV GL according to NS-EN ISO 9001:2008 for quality.
AAK Safety records near misses, incidents, suggestions for improvement, and experiences. These records are reviewed and processed, with particular emphasis on prevention and improvement during these reviews. The goal is that this knowledge should benefit our customers, suppliers, and the environment around the company, while maintaining a positive working environment.
AAK Safety has a safety committee, a safety delegate scheme, and a trust representative scheme. Employees are informed about HSE and quality via the company's intranet, where everyone can share their experiences with colleagues. Through the company's deviation system, everyone can propose improvements. In addition to the safety delegate scheme, we have a mentoring program for new employees. Several times a year, internal safety seminars are held, as well as other professional and social gatherings. This provides a great opportunity to gather a dispersed workforce and address important safety issues related to our fields.
AAK Safety is affiliated with Stamina occupational health service, which assists in workplace assessments and the follow-up of various HSE factors.
AAK Safety has participated in the development of SOFT and is approved as a type 3 company in SOFT.
AAK Safety has a delegate in the CEN committee TC 160, which is the technical committee in CEN that develops EN standards for 'Personal protective equipment against falls from heights including support belts'.
